A new side of the island.

+ We stayed with this family in August for four nights and felt at home from the very beginning. Little Wikan and his parents, Putra and Ratna, are wonderful hosts who welcomed us as if we were old friends. Putra even let us rent his own scooter for the entire seven-day stay we spent exploring Bali! The traditional Indonesian breakfast was delicious: we tried everything on the menu, and our mouths still water at the thought of the Bubur Injin and Pisang Goreng. We had the opportunity to discover a different side of the island, learn more about how local families make a living, and gain a deeper appreciation for the hard work of the local community. Putra also took us on a wonderful walk through the rice fields and the forest, teaching us how to recognise different fruit trees along the way. It was a truly special experience that allowed us to connect with Bali in a much more authentic way. Ratna is an absolute sweetheart. She was incredibly kind and thoughtful, always happy to chat with us and recommend places to visit, and she even cooked us a delicious dinner that we will remember fondly. The warmth and kindness of this entire family, including the grandparents, made our stay truly unforgettable. We felt so welcomed and cared for that even now, whenever we think back to those days spent with them, we still find ourselves getting emotional. They gave us so much more than a place to stay: they gave us a glimpse into their lives and a feeling of being part of their family, even if only for a few days. We will always carry these memories in our hearts and are deeply grateful to Putra, Ratna, little Wikan and the whole family for making our time in Bali so special. We cannot recommend this place highly enough! We truly hope to return one day and spend more precious moments with this wonderful family.

Perfection

+ The Homestay is in a small village, surrounded by nature and super close to the most beautiful ricefields in Bali. It is also very close to the shortest starting pointo to hike up Mt. Agung. The hosts, Ratna and Putra, along with their son (will not say his name here) and the rest of the family, are absolutely lovely people with good values, who will make you feel like home and will always try to help you with anything. The food is simply delicious and the room is very comfortable. Don't think it twice, book a couple of nights (or more!) here and spend some time with this beautiful family. You won't regret it!

+ Wikan homestay is managed by the delightful couple, ratna and putra. They are gracious hosts, and are kind, welcoming and intentional. I loved learning about their culture and swapping perspectives with them. Putra makes wonderful breakfasts, which is something to look forward to. The place grows on you, although i would say - you have to truly want to experience a balinese living, to be able to stay here. It most certainly is in the center of a village.

− They did not have hot water during my stay, and at best it was lukewarm.

We miss you already!

+ When we were leaving your house we got truly sad, to the point we kinda cried in the bike. It was amazing how welcomed you made us feel, not only you two but your whole family. I was so grateful that we choose to stay there, it was one of the best parts of my trip in Indonesia! Thank you so much! For all the travelers in doubt where to stay Wikan's house is perfect! Putra and Radna will treat you with so much love and care that you feel truly relaxed. The breakfast was amazing, by far the best one we had in all our stays! The bed was comfortable, the place was so green, the village is quiet but very close to big cities, Radna is so sweet and I loved talking to her! They made sure we knew where to go and even helped us sharing a few not so famous locations! They offer dinner (you pay a part) and the food is so amazingly good!!!! I miss mama, papa, and the kids as well. When I'm back in Indonesia I will make sure to stay there for a longer period of time! Thank you so much for our stay!

A safe place!

+ When I first arrived, I was in shock and wanted to give this place a 3-star rating, but with each passing day, I mentally added one more star. In the end, I stayed there for 6 days and didn't want to leave. It was an absolute relaxation, thanks to the stunning natural surroundings, the tranquility, and the wonderful hosts. It was like a rehab from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Ratna and Putra thanks for all!!!

+ True Balinese hospitality in every sense. The host welcome you into their family home and treat you as friends. Putra, the host, has family ties to the small village for generations and is passionate about sharing the history and culture of traditional Bali life - his tour around the village and through the communal rice fields has been a highlight of our travels. Wonderful experience!

Putra & Ratna offer great food & genuine happiness, it is a pleasure to stay there.

+ you stay inside the family compound & they are the most welcoming people ever. There are a couple of walks you can do, firstly to Samsara (Living Museum) & the Raya honey farm. Both take you through small villages with endless smiling faces, running streams & towering trees. It soothes the soul.
