Unique and cool experience

+ A beautiful and unique hotel, well-maintained and clean. We enjoyed various attractions in the surrounding area, all within walking distance—which was great. I’d like to give a special mention to the lovely housekeeper on our floor (from Vietnam); she was always smiling and took such genuine care in tidying our room. The breakfast was nice—I especially liked that there were three coffee machines, catering to different types of milk, along with a good variety of options. Personally, I would have liked to see some vegetables included in the breakfast. The kid's bed is super cool!

− Having a line of 30 people waiting to enter the dining room is unacceptable; I have never seen such a thing at any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Charging an entry fee for the hotel’s children’s play area is also something I’ve never encountered. It would be better to simply include this in the room rate—adding, say, 10 Singapore dollars—rather than embarrassing yourselves like this. It’s just embarrassing. Furthermore, the food in the restaurant is of a very low standard for a hotel of this caliber. The steak was dry and tough, the salmon was dry—it simply wasn't tasty. There is a lack of signage throughout the hotel, and we got lost multiple times 😅. Assistance with booking attractions could also be improved; there were only one or two staff members handling this, with a long line of people waiting. As for room service from the restaurant, a 60-minute wait is far too long.

Exceptional and Memorable Experience at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree

+ Our stay at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree was truly exceptional and memorable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and so attentive to our needs. Our rooms were so comfortable and luxurious with everything we needed. The entire Resort was so luxurious and like a peaceful paradise. The Buffet Breakfast was 10/10 with so many dishes, juices, hot drinks & sweets to choose from. We had dinner at the Resort Restaurant too which was very delicious and good value. Another highlight that put the icing on the cake was the Singapore Zoo which was within walking distance from the Resort. It's the best Zoo experience we've ever had and a must 'to do' whilst in Singapore!!!!

Beyond Excellent Experience!!

+ We loved everything at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree: the facilities, the Staff, our Room, the Restaurant, the breakfast!!! Our stay was a beyond excellent experience!

A nice nature getaway in Singapore.

+ Location was excellent, close to zoo and other parks (walking distance). Hotel rooms are very nice, nice views, modern rooms, nice bathroom. Breakfast selection great.

− Connection door to other room. And then of course neighbors that had a party. Hotel staff was responding accurately though, they solved it.

Zoos are wonderful but hotel has some shortfalls

+ We went to Singapore to go to the zoos, which are magnificent and occupied us happily for two full days. This resort is part of the zoo complex, 40 minutes from the airport by taxi. The rooms were good, as you would expect, the grounds are splendid, and the staff are lovely.

− The restaurant is ordinary, with uninviting decor. Breakfast is spoilt because tea and coffee are only available by using self-service machines at the end of the restaurant. They are slow, one was malfunctiong, one ran out of water, your food gets cold before you can get your hot drink etc. The resort gym is tiny and the rooftop pool is very small for a resort of this size. That would all be OK in a 4* hotel, but this should be better because it is expensive. I stayed at the Dusit Thani Laguna near Changi Airport on a previous Singapore visit and the facilities, public areas, restaurant and food there were much better. The flaws at Mandai are in the design and systems, not the fault of the staff who are consistently friendly and helpful.

+ We love the presence of nature: monkeys, birds, squirrels, beautiful trees, and flowers all around the resort. The room size is good, breakfast were delicious, friendly staff.

− We were locked out of the room for a while because something was wrong with the door. The lighting system is not my thing, can't simply turn 1 light on, it's a whole bunch of lights.
