YOTEL Istanbul Airport, City Entrance

Mainly excellent but one significant disappointment.

+ The room was excellent in every way. I did not realise that there would not be a kettle but the staff provided one on request. Breakfast was superb.

− We moved one of the tables in the dining room to give our daughter a bit more space. Under the large square metal foot of the table was a lot of old mouldy food which had been pushed or swept under and obviously had not been cleaned away for many weeks. This was not acceptable in a hotel such as this and I later regretted not taking a photo. Everywhere else we saw the hotel was clean.

+ Excellent location. The stay time is now extended: from 14 (pm) to 11 (am) hours (+1 day), that is much better than one year ago. This is a good reason to book it. A good option to sleep and relax before your night flight.

− A little bit expensive.

Great sleep cave after a long flight

+ This place served its purpose for us- we needed a place to stay when our flight was delayed. I call it a sleep cave- it's dark, no windows, and comfy beds - perfect for when you're jet lagged and just need to crash. Also the perfect location if you're trying to stay at the airport - it's landside so you have to check back in and go through security but it's great.

− Price point is very expensive, but I guess you're paying for convenience.

Can't beat the location

+ The young woman at reception was awesome and even changed my reservation to her location. This hotel has 2 entrances and I arrived at the wrong one.

− Tbh, it is beyond me why anyone would want to have to go out of the international (already secured) area to go to the city entrance of the hotel... If you follow what the hotel site says to do, this is what will happen and you will have to go through security and passport control all over again. Why? The lighting in the room is truly terrible. It wouldn't take much to improve.

I would never choose it if I had other options

+ It’s the only option in the whole airport!

− It’s hardly a hotel, the rooms are the tinniest I’ve ever seen Very expensive for what it is. Also, I’ve never seen a hotel where check in starts at 6am and check out is at 9am! But if you want to stay longer -you can pay!! What???

Great for a layover, but too expensive

+ Perfect location in the airport for a quick layover. Very clean. It's so impressive that you can leave the room and be at passport control within 5 minutes.

− Overpriced. You pay for the location rather than the comfort. The room didn't even have plastic cups; we had to go to the reception and the bar to get some.
