10 days in Selectum

+ Friendly restaurant staff. Lots of kids activities. Food very tasty and wide selection. Beach is clean. Overall super vacation. The whole experience to be recommended esp. If you travelling with kids

− The reception staff was not really helpful and/or capable. Lacking language fluency as well. I will not say they very rude but they completely detached and non motivated when i asked them anything. The restaurant staff is completely the opposite ... they are welcoming and friendly (even though they properly have 1000x more busy than the reception staff).

+ We had a nice stay at Selectum Colors Bodrum overall. The hotel itself is lovely, with a great variety of food, plenty of activities, and good entertainment options. There is always something to do, and the facilities are quite nice.

− However, unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. Some of the staff were quite rude and not very welcoming. When we had questions or requests, we often didn’t receive clear answers or proper assistance. At times, it felt like the staff simply didn’t care about the guests or their experience. It’s a shame because the hotel has a lot of potential and many good things to offer. With more professional, friendly, and attentive service, the overall experience could be much better.

+ Food was great, and the beach is better than the pictures, view from our room and the lobby was incredible

− Room is a bit outdated, and the check in day the reception staff wasnt helpful so we spend the first day trying to navigate a large hotel, would have appreciated more guidance with better attitude, the guest relations staff was amazing and compensate the following day for the lack of information from the reception, so Thank you to the guest relations team!

Very Good

+ The duplex family room, entertainment, pool and beach were great. Our kids (aged 8 & 4) particularly enjoyed the shows and water sports. Main buffet very good and choice extensive. Staff were friendly. We were impressed with how easy it was to locate a few items we lost, which had been carefully collected and catalogued.

− We visited in August and haven’t been to a resort this big before. For us, it felt busy around the pool/ beach, with sun beds crammed together and not always easy to find. Also lots of walking, due to size of the resort. (Although good exercise after all the delicious food!)

+ The views from the resort are absolutely incredible and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The buffet offers a good variety of food, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely try their best to please guests.

− For the amount of money we paid, we expected a much more luxurious experience. The property feels quite outdated and is definitely in need of improvements and a facelift. The specialty restaurants were also disappointing and very mediocre compared to what we expected from a resort at this price point. The beach and pool areas are extremely crowded, with lounge chairs placed very close to one another, leaving little sense of space or privacy. If you want a more private and relaxing experience, your only real option is to pay extra for a private cabana.

− Rooms, staff is not trained how to serve or treat the clients, foods (although carefully prepared, the foods were tasteless)

The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with great sea access and high-quality food.

+ The cleanliness of the hotel, bathrooms, and pool area was exceptional. Sea access was very well maintained, and we appreciated having showers and changing rooms available at the beach. Food quality at the main restaurant was high standard. Despite the hilly terrain, we were able to get everywhere with a stroller thanks to the paths and elevators. We appreciated the kids' day care for children aged 4 and up, along with the daily programme for both kids and adults. Evening events took place every day and were very enjoyable.

− Although the staff were friendly, very few spoke English. Even at check-in, reception had to search for someone who could communicate with us in English, which came across as unprofessional for a hotel of this type. Additionally, some staff members frequently touched and cuddled our 8-month-old baby. While likely well-intentioned, we found this uncomfortable and would have preferred more respect for our personal space.
