Confirmed apartment was not provided and we had to move elsewhere at a substantially higher cost.
+ The representative eventually helped us find alternative accommodation after telling us that the apartment we had booked was unavailable.
− We booked NELL House for 9 nights, from 25 September to 4 October, in a three-bedroom apartment with sea view for approximately USD 1,906. Communication before arrival was poor. The representative contacted me only late in the evening before our arrival, after I had repeatedly tried to reach the property. The listing advertised a free airport transfer, but no transfer was provided. After landing in Baku, we were told to take a taxi and meet the representative in the city centre. Only after we had arrived were we told that the apartment had allegedly been flooded by neighbours from above and could not be used. We were not shown the apartment and were given no photos, videos or other evidence of the flooding. As a result, we never stayed at NELL House. The representative arranged another apartment elsewhere, but it cost us USD 2,700 — about USD 794 more than our original booking — and was in a much less convenient location. One of the main reasons we had chosen NELL House was its proximity to the seafront promenade. I was travelling with my elderly parents, for whom long walks are difficult, so the replacement location meant that we had to use taxis much more often. In short, the confirmed apartment was not provided, we learned about the problem only after arriving in Baku, and the replacement accommodation cost about 42% more and was in a less convenient location.
