Terrible stay at an outrageous price – avoid, especially during Formula 1

− I booked this hotel for 4 nights during the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku, and it was one of the worst accommodation experiences I have ever had. First, the pricing. For the race weekend the hotel charged roughly seven times more than for the same 4 nights in a week without the race. Higher prices during a major event are understandable, but not for conditions like these. The hotel also seems to operate under two names, “Liberta Hotel Baku” and “Edison Hotel.” That looks like the same property being listed twice under different names, which I find misleading for guests. The room was in very poor condition: • The carpet was dirty and covered in stains. • There was leftover jam on the bedside table from previous guests. • The bathroom floor had old dust and dirt that had clearly been there a long time. • The bed wobbled. • The shower column was in terrible condition. • The heated towel rail was coming away from the wall. • The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. • The air conditioner squeaked constantly. Housekeeping was non-existent. Nobody came to clean the room once in 4 days. To get fresh towels I had to go down to reception myself. Given the extremely high price and these appalling conditions, the stay ruined my whole impression of the Formula 1 weekend, which should have been the highlight of the trip.

+ The staff were cordial, cooperative, and very helpful throughout my stay. The manager, Alex, was especially supportive, assisting with late check-in and check-out and promptly helping with any issues. The location is excellent and the property is neat and clean

− There was a language barrier at times, but using google Translate made communication manageable. The breakfast was decent, though it could use some improvement with more variety and options

+ It's in a great location near 28 Mall. The lovely lady who prepares the breakfast makes AMAZING omelettes!

− The first morning, there was no electricity, therefore no hot water. The second morning, it was the same. It was a bad start but improved somewhat.

+ Nice place almost in the center of the city, not far from the old city. Rather quiet place. Room was nice.

− Maybe the have to chance the fire warning system. It gives an annoying noise. There is no breakfast.

+ This is a good place for one night if you want to stay close to the railway station. The bus from the airport stops at the station.

+ Close to the railway statio/metro/airport bus stop. Area felt safe and plenty of food and drink options nearby.
