Soviet charm. But so-so!
+ Soviet style building. Convenient. And good value for money
− Staff was efficient but not very friendly, a bit cold. The lift was not working on 1 side. Also the hotel needs an urgent renovation. The restaurant upstairs looks a bit spook & tacky!

It was a beautiful stay overall after our room was switched (for the stay for September 5-7). For September 7-10 we got
+ The elevator was prompt, the staff was courteous. The windows in the rooms gave great air flow. The money exchange was convenient. Breakfast was great. Ice cream and tea on the first floor was nice.
− Some rooms had a smell, a broken shower, barely working front door latch. Soap and shampoo quality wasn’t good. Overall just needs a renovation to fix broken things. Otherwise it’s a beautiful hotel. The room 1521 was great. Other room where we stayed from September 5-7th on the 12th floor wasn’t so good. Thank you for everything.

+ Excellent location, food is good in the 17th Floor, view, lobby bar too relaxing one , even before check in as reached early, staffs v.good ...
− AC not at all comfortable as it is the last room, air flow less, wash room tap holder came out , Wash room doors are damaged, no sugar pouches, insufficient water, called room service to send on payment, didn't respond, etc ..Tariff alittle costly

+ Booking reservation and check in were very good. Location is fantastic, in other point this is the only advantage of this hotel .
− Braekfast resturant was very small for this amount of guest. The room was small and facilities were like 2 star hotels.

Monumental and budget friendly
+ The hotel is located in the best place for tourism, and it is part of the legend itself! The price is reasonably low for such a monumental hotel.
− The check-in staff was a bit rude when I checked in in the evening; there were two young male staff members. One of them told the white guy in front of me every detail about the hotel, and when it was my turn, he didn't say anything extra. Sounds rude. My first assigned room (floor 9 facing the plaza) did not have a functional AC, and it was hot until very late at night!! I complained on the second morning, and they changed my room to the 14th floor facing the other side, which has a nice view and a good air conditioner. The breakfast was supposed to be good with a variety of options, but it was a bit too crowded. The first morning, the coffee machine was broken. The lobby bar does not have AC in the hot hot summer afternoon, which is also weird to me.
