HOTEL METROPOL Club House — 3 Nights in Yerevan

+ Overall, we had a pleasant stay at METROPOL Club House. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and very well located, with easy and quick access to many of Yerevan’s main attractions, restaurants, cafés, and shopping areas. The lobby and common areas are nicely designed and have a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. The Wi-Fi was also very good. The hotel is located inside a building, with the hotel itself on the third floor, so it can be a little difficult to find the first time you arrive. However, once you know where it is, the location is excellent. We did not include breakfast in our room rate, but we tried the hotel breakfast on our last day. It was not exceptional, but it offered a good variety and was reasonably priced.

− There is, however, one important issue with the booking information. Our room was a Standard Double Room without a window, but this was not clearly stated anywhere during the Booking.com reservation process. I checked the booking information again specifically after our stay, and the lack of a window was not clearly disclosed in the information presented to us when making the reservation. When we arrived for check-in, we were told that the room had no window and that we would need to pay extra if we wanted a room with a window. We had already asked the hotel before arrival if a room with a window might be available, but they told us there were no rooms available for an upgrade. We therefore believe the main issue is the lack of transparency in the Booking.com room description, rather than the hotel itself. A room without a window is a significant feature and should be made very clear before a guest makes a reservation. One small suggestion for the hotel: I really appreciated the effort to create a more natural feeling in the windowless room. There was a fake window with lighting behind it, together with curtains, which was a clever idea to give the room a sense of having a window. However, the lighting was either fully on or completely off. If possible, connecting the light to a dimmer would make a big difference, allowing guests to adjust the brightness and create a more natural atmosphere. An even better solution might be an automatic day/night setting or light sensor, so that the “window” could simulate daylight during the day and become dimmer or switch off at night. I think this relatively small improvement could make the windowless rooms considerably more comfortable and help reduce some of the discomfort of staying in a room without natural light.

+ Loved the location although could get a little noisy depending on which room you stayed in. We stayed here twice, the first time was perfect, facing the back courtyard of another hotel but the second time we were facing the front of the hotel which can get a little noisy. Its a busy street with everything on your doorstep.
