+ Overall in terms of price it was really good. Our room unfortunately had consistent AC issues The food was really good too in their own restaurant The room was compact but nice

Good value near Sultanahmet

+ Friendly helpful staff, good location a short walk from the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet area and Haga Sophia. Good restaurant attached. All you need at a reasonable price.

− Not the easiest area to reach from the airport by metro (2 transfers and a lot of walking).

I could hear everything that was going on in the neighbors' room through the walls.

Recommended place to stay

+ Super location. The room was extremely clean! The bed was very comfortable. Staff were helpful.

− Wifi was a little iffy. But travelling either eSim it made no difference

+ Near lots of main tourist sites. Safe location for a solo female traveller. Really good breakfast whith the staff in the restaurant being very helpful and obliging. Also very helpful and polite staff member who helped me with my bags

− I did contact the hotel to arrange airport transfer and they responded stating contact them again the day before my arrival, which I did, but they did not arrange and I had to make alternative arrangements. I raised this at check in, and did receive an apology for the oversight. Location may not suit a person not able for lots of hills.

+ Good location, I didn’t think it was noisy . Useful shop for stuff just around corner.

Nice central hotel, excellent value for the price

+ The hotel is actually called Costantinopolis, Barbarosa is just the name of the restaurant to the other side of the road! However, the hotel is really nice for the price. The room was as nice and modern as in the pictures, good size and ensuite. It included a fridge, wardrobe, security box, and kettle with tea and coffee. The location was very central, walking distance to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace. There's also a tram stop nearby if you wanna go further. Also, lots of restaurants, bakeries and small supermarkets around. The staff was also very helpful.

− The hotel name should be charged to its actual name, it's Costantinopolis hotel! Please also keep in mind it's on a very steep hill, it's difficult to get there on foot if you have heavy luggage. The hotel itself was quiet, but it's close to a mosque so you'll be waken up by the Iman early in the morning. Although, as there are countless mosquees in Istanbul, this will likely happen in most hotels. Cleaningness was ok but far from perfect.

Comfortable stay

+ The hotel is located quite close to the Sultanahmet area and a bit of a walk from Çemberlıtaş tram stop. The hotel itself is relatively small boutique-like property, however my room was quite big and comfortable. The room was also very bright and full of sunlight thanks to the south-facing window. The bed was comfortable, the furniture looked nice, the bathroom was clean, shower had good pressure, and internet worked quite well. I also liked that the housekeeping replenished water, teabags and coffee daily, which was a nice touch. Overall, considering that budget hotels in this area can be a bit unreliable, I would suggest this one provides good value for money.

− It might be a bit difficult to find the hotel at first, but even though it's tucked away at a small street, it's not a bad location. There were couple minor issues but none of them dealbreakers. In the room itself my TV didn't work (I rarely watch TV but this time I wanted to catch up on some Olympics broadcast). Also if you have to use AC/heater at night, the temperature display on it is rather bright so I had to use a sleep mask. Lastly, the hotel doesn't allow outside guests, so take it into account if that is an issue for you.

It was very good for one night stay
