A luxury experience right in the heart of one of the world's most vibrant cities

+ This is a beautiful hotel located deep in the beating heart of Old Delhi - near Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid. So you get the best of both worlds: the quiet and comfort of a fancy hotel, and an explosion of noise, colour, smells, sights and great restaurants just outside your doorstep. The staff are fantastically helpful, and the rooms are delightful.

Amazing staff, historical peaceful heaven right in the middle of the old city

+ A haven of tranquillity, a real tonic for the chaotic old city. The restoration work of these historic Haveli’s are beautiful. We were vey grateful for the porter service which guided us to the hotel, which is quite overwhelming when you arrive. The coffee and breakfast were excellent. The staff were warm and generous, especially Sonel, a very kind man on night duty! The room we stayed is was very well appointed. With an extremely comfortable bed and stunning bathroom. We have been to the Oberoi on this holiday and found The Golden Haveli more comfortable. A first we felt downgraded not being in the Dharampura, but we actually preferred the Golden Haveli as it was just as historical but even more peaceful.

− The litter in the surrounding streets. We were sent a bogus link saying we haven’t paid who he looked genuine. I think the hotel should warn us of such scams dangers in their comms.

The Delhi experience that you want.

+ We loved the location, having to walk into the hotel through laneways; we loved the decor; we loved the building; we loved our room; we loved the rooftop & watching sunset & neighborhood kids kite flying; the staff were quietly attentive & appeared to love feeding us special breakfast treats; the restaurant was gorgeous and the food was delicious. The free room snacks were great. An absolutely great place to stay in Delhi.

− There is really nothing that we didn’t like. Just one small critique on bathroom toiletries. For the price paid we expect to have adequate & frankly, elevated toiletries provided for two people on a daily basis. It was disappointing to find only one small vial of body wash & shampoo on arrival & only one re supplied daily & only one toothbrush! The TV is not needed. It detracts from the ambiance & experience of the room.

An amazing authentic but comfortable experience

+ Loved that both parts of the hotel were restored Havelis and all the ancient buildings and history around them. We wanted to be in old Delhi, with its lanes and chaos to experience the ancient part of the city properly. Its location was easy walk to the Red Fort and markets. The hotel staff were very helpful in obtaining and negotiating prices on vehicles to take us to restaurants and sights, which was great. The hotel suggests we didn’t give tips directly but just in a box in the hotel, which was less daunting for us.

− The lane both parts of the hotel is located on is a bit narrow and grubby but as expected and part of the authentic experience which we actually appreciated. So we were happy. We did arrive in an unusually heavy end of monsoon time, so we and our bags were soaked walking from our taxi to the hotel but this was bad timing. The staff were helpful and charming.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Loved the Old Dehli location - it's not for everyone but a lifetime

+ Great breakfast and dinner. Aloo Puri was amazing.

− The hotel driver wasn't there to pick me up from the airport. I got throuhg passport control very quickly and he hadn't arrived on time.
