Absolutely loved it here!

+ Don’t let the stairs up to the hostel fool you, the place is super cute with the loveliest staff and nice clean rooms! The common area is spacious with complimentary water, tea and coffee, complete with maps and a water feature. The location is also amazing, close to the metro and a quick walk to the old town. I cannot recommend this place enough!

− It is not necessarily a problem but there are a few flights of stairs to get up there, so it’s worth keeping in mind for anyone struggling with stairs.

A Convenient and Comfortable Baku Hostel

+ I had a good experience at CTH-Baku-Hostel and found that it served as an excellent accommodation to stay in while I explored Baku. I stayed on two separate occasions during my travels in Azerbaijan, and on both occasions I was left satisfied with the facilities and service offered. On each occasion I stayed in a different room, and my experience in each was comfortable. I did not encounter any trouble trying to sleep, as this hostel is relaxed and keeps noise to a minimum after 22:00. Likewise, free tea and water are available to guests in the spacious common room, while towels and soap are also provided, so there is no need to worry about not having your own. I found the staff to be exceptional; they were incredibly welcoming, went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible, and were accommodating when I had to extend my stay in Baku despite the Azerbaijan GP starting concurrent with my stay. Staff are able to speak multiple languages, including English, Russian, and Azerbaijani/Turkish, so travellers won't experience any communication issues with them. I would like to single out Elshen and Sasha for their kindness and generosity. Elshen was patient and didn't hesitate to allow me to wash some of my clothes at no extra cost. Sasha, meanwhile, was an especially friendly individual who was also willing to talk to me and assist however he could. He even provided me with a fan for my room to help cope with Baku's high temperatures! While not located right in Baku city centre, it still has a central location, and many of the city's sights are reasonably accessible on foot. For example, İçərişəhər is approximately twenty minutes away, while Baku Boulevard is just another ten minutes further. For those not wanting to walk Baku's streets, express buses to 28 May and Nizami metro station are located a stone's throw away from the hostel in the nearby square.

+ The hostel is in a great location, close to many tourist attractions and restaurants, and right next to the metro station. The staff were also friendly and accommodating. Although breakfast is not available, they provide water, biscuits, fruits, and hot drinks in the lounge 24/7.

− The lighting in the room was quite dim, as one of the bulbs was not working. The air conditioning could not be adjusted properly and was too cold, so we had to keep switching it on and off to stay comfortable. The hostel is also located on the third floor, and there is no elevator, which may be inconvenient for guests carrying heavy luggage.

Very Good

+ Staff was super welcoming and sweet! The place is great value for money—nice living room and common area, the bedroom was okay, hot water and fast wifi. Location is great: about a 20-minute walk from everything and right across the street from the metro. I'd definitely recommend it!
