First room pretty banged up. Price was modified after stay completed. Core staff very nice.

+ Bit bizzare message a day earlier that if i dont confirm with 24 hrs then will deem fake booking/cancelled. i did send but didn't get ack until i followed up twice on the day of arrival. Send note from airport via booking if reservation is guaranteed and they said there is some electrical issue being fixed and will honor reservation (whatever that means). Room had smell of a dog (told them so and said no pets - but my point was it was like foot odor/mild rotten egg). from reception i got a room spray but it had little left so got over. on penultimate night got sewer smell in bathroom drain Furniture is 2nd hand / banged up. It seems a hastily done patched up job. Basically it an apt rooms turned into hotel. Table lamp (hanging from ceiling) has no switch! it didn't work and the guy said the switch is near the door (then it cannot be a table lamp!) It doesn't have any plug points. No chair in room - so got the chair from the eating area. The room door near latch would also lock with difficulty and seem banged up Wi-fi was patchy. They told me later that I had to switch rooms as first they gave me a bigger room- which is fine but they didn't tell me that. the new room was much better and hopefully that is the standard for rest of the rooms. But in that new room The a/c was not cooling (if you set it at 19C the feel was 24C so clearly needed some maintainence)- i told the middle aged person (owner or manager i don;t know) politely who was there and rather than say they will look into it he said i was expecting five star service in low price which i thought was quite rude. i didn't say anything after that. After my stay was completed - they modified the price of the stay reducing the price by 90%!! figure what that means - you pay the hotel in cash! That seems a shady operation.

Very disapointing.

− The hotel is not what it is shown on the pictures. Dirty carpet, limestones and rust everywhere in the bathroom. We arriwed to the location and lost our faith immidiately. So asked to see the rooms, and decided to leave immidieatly. It is far from how its advertise it self on Booking. Some of the pictures are AI improved..

− The room was not clean, kind of old, bathroom felt very old and not so clean. Our booking was in one building but then they moved us to another building, and I think it was less good than the first place. The pictures on booking.com certainly were not from the place we actually stayed at. Breakfast was really bad, we only had coffee. The price was really high, I feel like we were kind of cheated. Finally, after we checked out, I Saw that the price for my booking was amended to be a small fraction of the actual price we paid, I guess this is the hotel way to avoid booking.com fees

Great location with friendly staff

+ Great location to have the accommodation. Rooms are very clean and new . The staff is super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend

− Just a lot of stairs but it’s too bad. Also the hotel is under a different name under Google Maps. It shows as Urban Hotel

Great location and price

+ Actually, the owner transferred me to Dionis guest House almost next door and the rooms were big and better equipped. This was a budget stay and the location was brilliant for me so I was very pleased with my choice, The owner and staff were extremely kind and helpful.

+ I booked to stay on the night I arrived as my flight came in at 4am, I am truly grateful that someone was there to let me in at a very unsociable hour so that I could sleep after a long night travelling. It was a very budget option for a bit of sleep and ticked the box for that. The location for visiting Baku is good and the staff very friendly.

+ I booked this hotel in July. The owner contacted me and asked me to verify my reservation as he said he was worried about 'fake' reservations. I verified and even contacted him by WhatsApp but he still cancelled my reservation.

− I don't like when booking.com confirms my reservation and I then arrive in a strange location and it has been cancelled.
